With 1:1 devices, I allow students to work together on assigned tasks. Scholars attempt the assignment independently, then use accountable talk to review their work and catch misconceptions.
I created a box of differentiated task cards that students can choose from during their rotations. This allows students to practice what they have previously learned.
During small group rotations, I allow students that are learning virtually to collaborate with students that are face to face. This creates a sense of community and everything is student-led.
In this station, I present my scholars with a question and they are tasked with solving it with as many strategies as they can. This allows me to catch misconceptions, praise students for stepping outside of their comfort zones and expose them to different ways of thinking. They learn the most from each other!
We stand on desks, sing chants, make raps to use as strategies, dance, etc. This classroom is far from normal and we would not change it for the world.
This newsletter is provided for parents and scholars weekly. This is an attendance tracker, homework log, content update, conference request form, behavior tracker, and parent-teacher communication log all in one.
My goal is to encourage students to believe in themselves, learn to regulate their emotions, and impact society in a positive way through their passion and purpose.
Take a look at our virtual classroom that I created for my scholars. Below you will find an overview of the primary pages.

This page is edited weekly for scholars. My students have a choice in my classroom (eLearners and Face to Face). This gives them the autonomy to choose what they would like to work on based upon their individual levels.
